Shawn Blankemeyer (Class of '83) After high school, I attended Bowling Green State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Major in Radio-Television-Film. Immediately after college I worked on a nationally syndicated documentary, “On the Waterways” that aired on PBS. I then started my video career working for a variety of production houses and ad agencies in Ft. Wayne, IN and Lima, OH in videography, editing and directing. I also worked as a freelance video director for the training division of Exxon, USA in Houston, TX. While in Houston I took the opportunity to start a new career in a different but related field, Broadcast video sales selling high end cameras and editing systems. After some time there, I moved into a sales position for Long Communications Group in Winston-Salem, NC; and then on to Video Systems of the Carolinas, where I am now a Senior Sales Systems Designer. Currently I design and sell AV systems for training rooms, conference rooms and boardrooms (to see a picture of one such boardroom we designed for a large healthcare company, click here). We also design many video conferencing systems. Most recently, I was involved with designing a custom boardroom for a company in Boston so they could videoconference with their offices not only here in the US, but around the world. In addition to Boston, I have coordinated the design, delivery, installation, and training for videoconferencing systems in Europe, Japan, and other Pacific countries. Shawn's contact email is: |
